week 8 blog assignment : consequences of learning about the international early child hood professions.

                                                                Week 8 Assignment

                                                                 Latarsha Mitchell

                                                                  June 27,2016

In this last week assignment it has really shown me the importance of dealing with consequences of learning about the international early childhood field.but over looking the research of this matter, there are goals that i set out to improve this problem. the issues and trends and the spirit of collegial relations. the three consequences of learning about the international early child hood field is , 1. Candidates in the teachers education programs will demonstrate content knowledge , pedagogical, and professional knowledge necessary for successful performance in their field. 2. " Observed Skills and Disposition ". Candidates in the teaching field education programs will demonstrates professional skills and dispositions necessary for successful performance in their field. 3. " Service ", Candidates in the teaching education program will demonstrate willingness to use their skills to benefit and serve society.Within the context of their work, candidates promote authentic learning, social and emotional development , and a commitment to the social justice in environments that foster respect for diversity and the dignity of all.

one goal for field related to international awareness of issues and trends and the spirit of collegial relations . Faculty status , gender, ethnicity, and international higher education means that , not only is there no one definition for collegiality, but also the goals and words . collaborations  are shared . shared goals-settings to fostering and working in a spirit of a large population and tackling the issues related to collegiality. Health care quality improvement , ethical and regulatory issues are a very big issue. 1. Health care reform- the United States 2. Medical Ethics  1 Bruce Jennings 1949 shows that the interested fields and disciplines involved in Health care. including professional beliefs relating to , Among other things, the nature of the patient -doctor . also the importance of the church also is very important. one goal for the field related to international awareness of issues and trends  and the spirit of collegial relations ,realizing that although we have a passion for being around and working with children in a classroom setting, it does not mean that everyday is going to be a wonderful day. Being a teacher has many challenges and being a teacher is not always pleasant. there are going to be children that have developmental issues, children and families that live in poverty, children that comes from abusive households, children and family that also comes from different countries and who don't understand or speak English .

But after all of the research that i have done since i've been taken this course, I have learned that throughout teaching different classes it was brought to my attention that teachers salaries are not great. they are considered  " Low- income ". This is quite discouraging and one consequences of learning about the early child hood field i general. but in learning about international childcare, one of the consequences has been just reading about and gaining knowledge on all the negatives of working in the field. Some of these children /families stories are very heart breakng. it made me realize that being a teacher is not always pleasant  and it makes you truly think about what you would do if you were to be in a certain situation; how would I handle It ? are how would you handle it ? But often times , reading about all of the information that goes with the field can often change someones mind on working in the field. But for me personally,  I encourage others to continue to work in this field. what motivated me was that it has only encouraged me to want to continue learning more and it makes me look forward to being a teacher and helping children and families in anyway that i possibly  can.

getting to know your international contact

Being a teacher dealing with families from all types of life, I find that their are kids who are dealing with poverty within the family. poverty is a case of families who are struggling to make it day by day. poverty can go so many different ways. poverty doesn't always mean having a lack of money. poverty also means that have a lack of education, not being able to read. this here is a sad case all over the world. this is a topic that i feel is a serious matter and need resources to find ways to cut the poverty rate in the world. not just in my community but all over the world. their are resources that will allow officials and teachers in the community to find out ways that will allow us as people to better assist children and families who are living in poverty. we  have websites  such as www. thesistersofmary.com/en/.org. also you have the " National Center for Children in poverty www.nccp.org. this websites speaks on ways to help childcare & Early Education.child care research promotes high-quality research and its use in policy-making by providing online access to thousands of journal articles ,Research reviewers, and policy briefs. this web site  supports new research by making available public access to childcare and early education data. the " NCCP " shows that more than 16 million children in the United States 22% of all children -Live in Families incomes below the federal poverty level.- 23,550 a year for a family of four. Research shows that , on average , families need an income of about twice that level to cover basic expenses . Using this standard ,45 % of children live in low-income families. article " Young Children in Deep Poverty " Author : Mercedes Ekono, Yang Jiang, and Sheila Smith publication Date : January 2016,U.S. family of three living in deep poverty survives on an annual income below $ 9, 276.00. the struggle to raise children on such a meager income is not a rare circumstance among U.S. families.

But their are website s that are very helpful when it come to access on data on poverty.http://www.icphusa.org and http://www.nccp.org,also http://www.childrendefense.org/policy-priorities/ending-child-poverty/.org. The National Center for Children in poverty provides information on where the families who are living in poverty can find organizations that assist in food programs such as" WIC " Programs for children. this program is a good programs for mothers who can't afford milk as well as healthy food for kids.

week two diversity : Sharing Web Resources , Latarsha Mitchell May 13,2016

The policy that was very important policy was  the policy on the immigrants. this policy was important because there are a lot of families that are wanting to live a better life for their family. Being in a country that want allow you to work or get a education ,it is very sad. immigrants have the hardest time making a successful life when dealing with these sort of issues. getting a education and being able to work is very important . immigrants in this day and time ,now have the opportunity to have the life that they desire to have for themselves and their family. even though we have some politicians who still would love to see immigrants continue to stay in their country where they cant work and get honest pay, woman can't further their education and become successful such as others who aren't immigrants. the Immigrants policy here In  the United States still have a lot of work to be done. President Obama have made away where Latinos and Mexicans to come to America  to work, get honest pay,and their family can also work as well and receive a education.  their are some resources that have a lot of helpful information on this immigrants policies such as { Immigrants policies.org} . the Immigration policy center ..... this website shares the database on defending DAPA and Expanded DACA before the Supreme Court. It also allow us as citizens of America that ,In the spring of 2016, The U.S. Supreme Court will consider United States v. Texas.whether a state that voluntarily provides a subsidy to all aliens with deferred action has Article 111 standing and a justifiable cause of action under the Administrative Procedure Act ( APA ) to challenge the Secretary of Homeland Security's guidance seeking to establish a process for considering deferred action for certain aliens because  it will lead to more aliens having deferred action. their is an author by the name of ( Lynn Denniston ) who longer arguments set on immigrants policy.www.scotusblog.com " Longer argument set on immigration ) posted Friday, April 8th.,2016 6:26 p.m. by Lynn Denniston, The supreme Court on Friday agreed to add a half-hour, for a total o9f ninety minutes , to its scheduled argument on April 18 on Unite4d States v. Texas, Involving the validity of President Obama's broad program to defer deportation of up to five million undocumented immigrants. That argument order is included with list.

Another policy that really needs attention is the policy on religion. In some countries their are some people who can't practice the religion that they would like to practice. www.pewresearch.org,August 01,2014  speaks on Muslim countries prefer women to dress in public covered with a Vail. to where as in America our women doesn't haft to keep our bodies covered. with the author of the Univ. of Michigan study  for more information on survey methods and to see how responses differed by gender, age, education and religion. this article allowed me to see how there is an importance in the Muslim world. how women should dress in public. my opinion i feel that a woman should be able  to dress the way they want to dress.in this article it was a survey  from the University of Michigan's Institute foe Social Research conducted in seven Muslims majority countries. { Tunisia, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan,Saudi Arabia and Turkey ). these countries shows that most people prefer that a woman be completely covered up at all times, even their hair. but for us woman our bodies and our hair doesn't haft to be covered. it it made to be our choice, the the joy of being in a free country where their is so many opportunists for men and women.over all, most of the people who participate din the survey agree that women who hair and ears are completely covered by a white hijab , is the most appropriately dressed for public. another helpful article on this matter " America's True History of Religious Tolerance " www.Smithsonianmag.com. The United states has always been a bastion of religious freedom is reassuring-And - utterly at odds with the historical record.Surrounding into controversy an Islamic center planned for a site near New York City's Ground Zero memorial this past August, President Obama declared : " This is America. And our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakeable . meaning the principle that people of all faiths are welcome in this country and that they will not be treated differently by their government is essential to who are " In doing so.                                                                  concept of ( Daily Support )
                                                                       Latarsha Mitchell / April 6, 2016

in my mind support means to me is that  : support is making sure that educators have the resources, materials, knowledge, and training to provide what is needed for all children .support to me also means getting the help you need from friends and family, especially the support from the children families.providing kids who has special needs means giving the space they need as well as the equipment that is needed for there every day living. such as wheelchairs, support, and a lot of tender loving care fro the family as well as their teachers.also providing visual material for kids who has an visual impairment. when there are times when I'm  going to the grocery store and need assistance because of my visual impairment, I think that having some one with me that can help me with my grocery list would be very helpful. during the year of 1996, I was having problems with my vision. in this time i was in my senior year in high school. this impairment made it hard for me to focus on my assignments in class, read , write correctly, walk properly, and go through my every day living. there were times when I had to depend on my family for support, also depend on my family for preparing my meals, assisting me in bathing, taking care of my son, and taking me backwards and forward when ever i needed to go any where. that part of my life was very challenging as well as difficult. but the support that that i received from my family and my teachers allowed me to get through  that moment i my life. so having support from immediate family and teachers are very important when you are dealing with and impairment.

if I didn't receive support from my family i realize that my every day living experience would be very difficult at  times. not being able to walk across the street by yourself, having people stare at you, and not being able to be as independent puts you in a depression stage that will allow you to feel like you want to live this world. praying to God for strength and holding on the the faith to believe that things are going to get better, makes the situation easier to endure.

My Connection To Child Play

                                                  My Connections To Play

During the time when I was a child. play time meant fun time. During recess, my teacher would always give the kids the option to what they would like to do for fun. some of the things I loved to do as a child during play time was to play " Jacks ". Jacks was a game when my friends would enjoy playing with each other during play time. things that were fun made us more anxious to do what was needed to have play time. interacting was another idea of play time , getting to now different peers that were surrounding us as a child.Thinking back when I was kindergarten, play time was very. Being a child that was always sheltered under my family, it really help me mentally to open up to others such as my teacher, and as well as my classmates. I feel that play time can be therapeutic for children as well as there parents. this also gave me as well as other kids the opportunity  to gain a more close and positive relationship with their family, this is called " Bonding time ". As a child, we all should learn the importance of play time. it is much needed in a child's life, it gives the child the child the opportunity to be a child. Also develop communication skills which will allow them to respond to others as they grow up.

During the time when I was a child, in school the teachers always encouraged the ids to participate in play time. they felt like that was our bonding time. playing kick ball, Mr.Potato Head, Hop scotch, and slide  we games that were very hands on with others. just to name a few , these were the games that was very fun as well as some what education as well. In today's time play time is much different. in somethings it still show some similarity.today in some class room their are things provided to kids that would allow them to isolate themselves from others such as Dolls. A single item such as this gives the child the time to take her play time to her alone time among her self, In which personal I feel is not a good idea. As a preschool ,it strengthen their academic focus. Play maintain a vital role ,Considering the limited time in a preschool setting and the pressure for success.playing time starts by sitting next to another child, often someone with similar similarities as well. This action gives the teacher the opportunity to see the way to guide her to plan for how the children are going to be engaged in play time. Teachers Play a very  Important role in supporting play time. Play is a very universal phenomenon and serves both natural and biological function throughout play time. Children has the opportunity to learn about ever changing world. theirs a quote by ( Elkind 2003 ) . It says that , Every teacher and families often view the value of play in different ways. Early childhood teachers say that " Play is a child's work ". some parent's ask , " Did my child just play all day ? it stated i the quote that play is sometimes seen as the opposite of teacher -directed directed an organized activities.

There are a few quotes that I feel would go with this topic on " Connection To Play ".
one, No matter how old you get , If you keep the desire to be create , you are keeping a mind to stimulate  creativity, one must develop the childlike inclination for play and the child . there is no such things as genius , some children are just less damaged than others. another quote : represent the purest , the quintessence of honesty, of, God. When you look as child's eyes you you see just pure innocence.
